Activities - Training & Support
The ODAC Training & Consultancy Services Unit conducts training courses and workshops on the Promotion of Access to Information Act of 2000 and the Protected Disclosures Act of 2000.

The purpose of the workshops and courses is to equip organisations and individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills to comply with the Acts, and to use the legislation to their advantage. This is to ensure improved Corporate Governance in the Public and the Private Sector through enabling people to expose corruption and fraud in the workplace without risk, and to improve the quality of decision making and of people’s lives through greater access to information.

The ODAC Training Unit offers the following services:
  1. Training on the Promotion of Access to Information Act of 2000 (PAIA).
    o For Holders of Information (Public and Private Sector Organisations, NGO’s, Trade Unions, etc).
    o For Requesters of Information (Individuals and Organisations, including Trade Unions, NGO's, Public and Private Sector).
  2. Facilitation of workshops to compile Manuals as required by the Promotion of Access to Information Act of 2000.
  3. Compilation of Manuals for organisations to comply with the Promotion of Access to Information Act of 2000.
  4. Training on the Protected Disclosures Act of 2000 (PDA)
    o Training for Public and Private Sector Organisations.
    o Training for Trade Unions.
  5. Assistance with the development of Whistleblowing Policies for organisations.
  6. Assistance with the implementation of whistleblowing infrastructures in organisations. 
  7. Workshops to link Whistleblowing Policies to organisational Ethics Policies and Organisational Values. 
  8. Workshops to link Whistleblowing Policies to improved Corporate Governance.
